Sorry no pets. This charming thatched cottage in the beautiful Blackwater valley is just one mile outside of Aglish village. A famine cottage, with a traditional half door, it has been lovingly restored and includes a large peat-burning fire. Briar Rose cottage is within walking distance of the local village wit its shop, pub, petrol station and church.

There is excellent shopping in both Cork and Waterford and possible excursions include Lismore Castle, Kilkenny Castle, the Rock of Cashel and the Jameson Centre in Midleton. Ardmore, with its blue flag fine sandy beach and safe swimming and the holy Mount Mellary Abbey are nearby. The Clock Tower in Youghal is one of the finest in Ireland, and the Dromana Drive has a unique Indian-influenced gateway, built for honeymooners in the 1800’s. The Comeragh Mountains range, just a short drive away, is designated as an area of outstanding beauty, and is ideal for nature lovers and walkers with its beautiful waterfalls, woods and unspoilt lakes.
If you are feeing more adventurous there are water sports and adventure centre’s, golf courses and horse riding within a 10 mile radius. There are plenty of restaurants, everything from fast food to award winning cordon bleu cuisine. You’ll find music in the pubs at night and a warm welcome everywhere you go. Whatever your taste this wonderful cottage and outstanding area is sure to impress. You’ll feel so at home, you wont want to leave.
